I just wanted to let the other designers in the contest know that I really enjoyed all of the courses. If anyone wants to know which one I chose as the best course, I'll tell you, but only 1st place. There were alot of standout qualities from all of the courses, I would like to mention a few. Hopefully, someone else will jump in and list some as well.
Best layout: Mamacs Retreat
Best planting: Glen Haven
Best bunkers: Mamacs Retreat
Best fairways: Alkimos
Best greens: (tie) Point Reyes, Alkimos
Best hole: Mamacs Retreat #9, the stretch of holes 7-9 were just incredible
Most likely to be a real course: Alkimos
Most fun to play: Point Reyes
Easiest: Unfortunetly, Gunpowder Bay
Toughest: Point Reyes
The course I would most like to play in real life: Glen Haven
The course I chose as the best: Send me a PM and I'll tell you
These are just my personal preferences/opinions.

Nice post! I'm still playing GunPowder & haven't played Alkimos yet so any further comments will have to wait.

We could even do a best par 3 / 4 / 5 vote if anyone thought that might be fun? Maybe each designer should put forward one each and get people to discuss them and vote on them? Just a thought.

Duncan, your holes 7-9 would be my vote for all 3! One of the most beautiful stretches of holes I have ever played.

This is one I didn't think to mention, but would agree with everything Steve said about it.

I wanted to thank those that entered the contest. It's great to play new courses. I abstained from voting because I thought they were all great and fun to play. Anything that encourages more designs is worthy. The designs have inspired me to give it a crack this year. I don't have the talent, but I will try. In the meantime, if another collaboration effort is formed, I certainly will participate. It is difficult to find the time or have the creativity to do 18 holes.

Aceless1 ! Glad to hear of your interest in doing a course. Don't fill like you have to get a course finished by a certain time if doing it on your own. Many courses have taken 6 months or much longer to complete. As far as creativity their are so many golf holes anymore that doing one that is different then another on some other course is almost impossible. If I have trouble trying to think of a hole design I go to a list of holes I keep that I like from different courses. Then I may choose one from that list and recreate it with a few minor changes or turn a par 4 into a par 5 or vice versa.
