Gene's courses sport some spectacular texture work.
Couldn't agree more, Steve. I had a quick look at the course when I was setting up the handicaps and pars for my spreadsheet and it is truly spectacular how he manages to meld the textures in so well. I also love the work he does with the surrounding dirt mounds. Really looking forward to playing this one.
Cheers

Thanks Brad, for posting this early round. I'm looking forward to playing against it.
I just watched your Rd 4 at Pinecliffe against mine. You started with the honours and it took thirteen holes for me to get them off you, after you left your birdie putt 2 inches short, in the jaws. You seemed to lose a little composure after that, which allowed me to get a couple of more shots on you before the end. We did, however, finish even on handicap. So, another great contest.
Just waiting on Randy's last round, and I can tell you, the Rd 4 and overall tournament result are interesting!
Cheers

Hi Guys,
we have now finished our second tournament of the year and the results couldn't be closer.
I just watched Randy's Rd 4 and I think it is fair to say that his putter let him down a bit in this round. As a result, the results for Rd 4 were as follows:
However, more importantly, congratulations are extended to Juan, who, after his best ever round in Rd 3 managed to hold on to win both the Handicap and Stableford events for the first time. Well done, Juan!
Here are the tournament results:
After two rounds, the FedUp Cup points are as follows:
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I just played my Rd 1 against Tarheel and loved every minute of it. The contest was close, but the highlight was the course. This is a really well-designed course, with terrific textures and very strategic holes. There are a few pin placements that will have you reaching for a stiff drink, but they are not impossible, if you put your approach close.
Enjoy
Brad

Hi Guys,
I just played my Rd 3 at Diamondback Trail and I can tell you that, even off the red tees, this is no push over. It's not overly hard, as all the Par 5's are well within reach and many of the greens are quite flat.
But, many of the red tees are not flat and the strong winds make distance estimating quite challenging. So, make sure you turn on your grid lines when you are on the tee, or you will find yourself in the bush.
I had to bring my "A" game today to score as well as I did.
Cheers
Brad
