Sleeping Bear Downs - work in progress

Post by JReel »

Hi all,

Below are some screenshots of a course I'm currently working on called Sleeping Bear Downs. The course features a number of the "template holes" that CB MacDonald and Seth Raynor placed into their designs. The course runs through the dunes of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore alongside Lake Michigan. I have the full 18 holes designed and routed, just need to do some finishing touches (which will take some time).

I got a chance to see some of sleeping bear dunes from a distance when I was in the area last fall. Beautiful area. The course looks great. That 18th green looks pretty wild. I'll have to get JN6 up and running by the time you finish this so I can check it out.

Well fook! That looks great! The first two course previews here both look brilliant. I gotta finish my Links season cause I think I need to get onto GBC.

Just saw this Jeff, hope you will find time and motivation to finish this, looks great.
The Biaritz seems a bit wild though, should be flat except for the big chasm from what I have seen :)

Some updated screenshots below. I'm adding quite a bit of detail and have decided to scrap two holes and completely re-do them, so this will still take quite a bit of time to finish. But, I am slowly progressing!
