Angel's Envy

Post by Jim Hall »

Just getting started but thought I would throw in a couple of pics to give you an idea of where I'm headed. Doesn't look like it, but there is quite a bit of elevation change; e.g., it is a drop of almost 30' from the tee to green on Hole 1.

Jim
Looks like another good start to a quality course. Was wondering if you have given up on Widow's Kiss. I really loved what you had going there.

I like what I see Jim. Nice work on the elevations to the left of 5 fairway.

Love the contour's of the green. Better put the ball in the correct area depending on pin placement or good chance of a 3 putt.

Finished Angel's Envy. Just playing around with the rock textures. The light model for the game is much different than that for the architect. The former tends to wash out highlights and contrast whereas the latter does not. Will probably wind up creating 3-4 rock textures of different darkness to make up for that.

Oh, and most of you probably knew this, but I'm slow. Always had a hard time creating a straight texture edge using multiple points. Finally realized the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. No longer using multiple points when making a texture that I want to be as straight as possible. Makes a huge difference :)
