The Trilogy Course Cheat Sheet

(distances are the designed shot paths from tournament tees to center of green, as are 150 yardage markers on sides of fairways)

IMPORTANT: In order for the JPEGS associated with this cheat sheet to work, they must be kept in the same folder as the this HTML document.

(Normal shot paths as designed into the course are the black, blue, white, and red lines combining into the yellow lines. The alternate shot paths are shown in red tee shots, and white approach shots, and on occasion, a black line for a middle lay up shot)

Hole #1

Par 4, 402 yards, slight dogleg left for normal shot path crossing the Trilogy River twice on the tee shot, but option of going left down another fairway and crossing water again to the green. Bunkers guard the left side of the normal fairway, and the right side of the left fairway, but going down the left fairway may leave you behind a tree.

Hole #2

Par 4, 357 yards, another dogleg left along the river bank and crossing the river twice on the tee shot, or shorter, more risky, alternate shot paths of going left on the other fairway either long or short have trees and bunkers that come into play.

Hole #3
Par 5, 503 yards, straight shot to an elevated green guarded by monster bunkers left and right.Pretty much a straight and easy par five that yields to birdies and eagles as long as you stay out of trouble.

Hole #4
Par 4, 349 yards downhill to a green guarded on both sides by deep bunkers, and in the back by The Trilogy River. A tee shot has a good chance of landing in the rough if you aren't careful.

Hole #5
Par 3, 212 yards downhill with a blind tee shot. Green is guarded in the front right and back left by large bunkers, with rough and weeds close to the landing area.

Hole #6

Par 4, 354 yards downhill (at least that is what it will play like). A deceiving hole, the first to have more than two ways to get to the green which has no bunkers guarding it, just The Trilogy River. The long way around is to go right, and then go for the green in two, but you have rough, weeds, and mounds guarding the green from your approach shot. Turn to the right on the tee and you can use a short iron to a wide open green, but approach shot has to carry the Trilogy Lake. More to the right and you can drive the fairway to the right of the lake and leave yourself a short approach shot to a wide open green. Take your time and find the right shot path to the hole for you.

Hole #7
Par 3, 226 yards up hill to a green guarded by bunkers on front and back. This hole is the toughest on the course, and most folks will mis-judge this one as your tee shot has to carry to the green, or you will be left with an steep uphill shot to the green on your chip from the rough or weeds.

Hole #8

Par 4, 435 yards downhill to a green guarded on all sides by bunkers and The Trilogy River on the back side. Two or three shot paths are available here, so plan carefully. The normal shot path is a tee shot in the fairway, lay up to the fairway on the left of the green, and chip to the hole, but you can also have your normal tee shot, then go for the green over and through the sparse trees in that approach shot path. A third option is to tee off to the right side of the green fairway (which is narrow, and requires precision shotmaking), and a short approach shot to the green.

Hole #9

Par 5, 498 yards. A good first nine finishing hole that requires planning and shot making with four options to the green. Tee shot to left, and around the sparse trees and rough area, and approach to fairway before having to cross the river to the green. OR, Tee shot left, and try to drive to the green guarded in front by the river, and a very deep ball-sucking pot bunker, and on the right by a long, meandering bunker, OR, tee off to the very narrow right fairway, and have a medium iron shot to the green.

Hole #10
Par 5, 495 yards. An easy birdie or eagle hole crossing the river three times--two on the tee, and once on the approach. The approach shot is fairly easy to a green on the edge of the Trilogy Desert. Nothing hard or deceiving about this hole other than the difficult green with many breaks and curves.

Hole #11

Par 4, 433 yards downhill with side by side dog leg left fairways, but with thick vegetation growing between the fairways. Going the easy way (down the right fairway will leave you a partially blind shot to the green, but going left requires a longer tee shot and avoid the complex bunker at the knee of the left fairway.

Hole #12
Par 4, 368 yards, tee off to a split fairway, lined with bunkers strategically placed near the landing area, Approach to an elevated, two multi-tiered green with bunkers guarding both sides and the back

Hole #13
Par 3, 179 yards, straight across the desert to a slightly elevated green guarded on all sides by ball swallowing bunkers, and heavy vegetation off the green. The green is a multitude of curves and slopes, and par is considered a good score.

Hole #14

Par 4, 334 yards, 42 feet downhill to a tough green guarded and surrounded by bunkers....one of them do I go for it type holes. Going either left or right will allow for a safe par or bird, but to make eagle here, you must carry a lot of terrain.

Hole #15
Par 4, 397 yards, downhill to a split fairway, then uphill to the green. The drive will carry a lot farther than you think, and too long will leave you struggling to save par on a green that will fool you and make you cry if you aren't careful.

Hole #16
Par 3, 199 yards up hill to a green soundly guarded on front, back, and sides by meandering bunkers. The green is is the beginning of the last stretch of links holes, but be careful of the tiny "steering ridges" located throughout the green.

Hole #17
Par 4,397 yards. Tee off across Trilogy River, but do you go left, right, or over that tall pine tree 125 in front of the tee??? Green is guarded by a modified pot bunker in from which will leave you in bad shape if your approach doesnt make the green (not to mention crossing the water on the approach). Birdies should be plentiful on this hole.

Hole #18

Par 5, 571 yards...one of two holes with at least four (and maybe as many as six) different ways to get to the green. A normal tee shot in the normal shot path will make you have to go for the green in three, but the more dangerous middle and right paths will allow you to reach the green in two and possibly make eagle. Trees and bunkers guard the secondary fairways, and a deep modified pot bunker will get you if you fall short on the island green. Smart golf strategy is required to score well on this finishing hole.
