Suprising season

I'm about seventy five percent done with another marathon World Tour season. 36 events have been played to date. I decided to make a season cut this year to eliminate anyone who has 0 points through the first 36 events. My points are a much simplified version of the Fed Ex. version. You need to finish in the top ten in a tourney to receive points. Through the first 36 events 134 players have at least 1 top ten finish. That means about 125 players got eliminated for the duration of this season.
To my suprise Tiger Woods & Keegan Bradley both were among the players cut. I really had know idea that neither had a top ten to date until I made the cuts yesterday. Here are the standings (top ten) after The BMW Championship (event #36)

Rory McIlroy 108 pts
Webb Simpson 86 pts
Phil Mickeison 84 pts
Martin Kaymer 83 pts
Luke Donald 76 pts
Bubba watson 69 pts
David Toms 55 pts
Steve Stricker 51 pts
Steve Horn 50 pts
Hunter Mahan 42 pts

I have no idea what it is that causes some players to completely dominate the tour while others do absolutely nothing. It often seems like it's the real tour's lesser players that dominate in this game and vice versa. :confused:

Your top 10 seems to have a pretty good pedigree though.

Which players group is that?
The tour I'm playing with still has Tiger and VJ as the dominant players.

David! Its a list that I created last year and update as players win real tournaments. Its avalible for download here. It has about 235 players when I uploaded last year. It consist mostly of PGA pros and European Tour players. When I made it it consisted of the top 100 players in the world and any player that had won a PGA or European Tour in the past 2 years. Also had quite a few others that were grandfathered in and still play at least 10 events a season.I'm not sure but try the 2012 list

Steve;
I was wondering if your roster produced more realistic scores than some of the others I have tried. I think I'm currently using a 2011 PGa Tour Roster that Indy created ('cause those are the guys I wanted to play against), but the winning Pros average 10 under per round; so my even par average typically ensures I don't make the cut and am often last of those cut by several strokes. I would like to find a PGA Roster that produces winning scores of say -10 to -18 after 4 rounds. I still wouldn't be competative but at least I would make a few cuts which would be fun (I think?).
Thanks Dave

My thoughts exactly.
I don't want to be teeing up knowing that I'm going to miss the cut already.
A good winning score for me would be maybe between 12 to 18 under.
I can't shoot -10 every round, but I still want to feel like I can compete.
Which list would be best for that?
I recall a good one a few years ago that had Faldo as a top player, I could compete with those guys, which list would that be?
I think I am currently using the 2007 list.

OK guys then you should like my list. Over the past 1.75 seasons most winning scores are -16 to -19. Of course it varys more then that I think I've seen -11 win before and on the other end -24. I also control how much a player improves. After the Players Championship in early may I check the averages of any player that finishes in the top 3. If they have played in at least 6 events and there avg is 68.00 or lower I delete that player and reinstall them at there begining stats. I do this by keeping a second copy of all the players in My Documents. After deleting I simply go into my documents and highlight that player and copy to the World Tour list in the players folder of Sierra and PGA 2000. That still lets players have hot steaks but not dominate an entire season. Its worked great so far for me.
I also have 2 cuts in most not all tournaments. After 2nd round 70 players or withen 10 strokes and aftter 3rd round withen 7 strokes and 70 players. This has helped trim the final round down near what it should be.

Steve;
What is your roster called? I checked the Rosters in the Utilities section, but didn't see anything that suggested a World Tour or Euro/PGA Players combo.
Thanks, Dave

Dave ! Try the 2012 PGA List. I didn't call it World Tour because I thought nobody would know what it was so I let Dar name it.

Are you talking about TOTAL 4 round scores of -30-40?? What I found last year is that a few players would shoot ~-8 for the first round (generally when they were straight computer, ie, before YOU teed off and comp players were hole by hole; after the first round -4-6 seemed pretty much the norm, with exception of course, so most of my tourney winners' scores were in the 15-20 range. After all the times I've played season and vs comp players, I still have never figured out the game's AI, except that it's flawed.
