This is a post from DC1 at Mygolfer:

"When I go to register on the new site it says my e-mail address is already in use. Do we need to register on the new site?"

I don't really know what to tell him, so hopefully someone can help him out.

This problem was resolved...

For future reference, the registration process is as follows:
-Member registers
-Member is sent a confirmation email validating the email address and providing a link to activate the account
-Member clicks on activation link (activating the account)
-good to go

If that confirmation email gets routed to your spam folder, you might not see it. That is what happened in DC's case.
