David Feherty on his decision to give up his playing career in favor of a microphone:

"When CBS came to me and asked me to do on-course commentary, I said, 'You know, I'm only 37, I still have hopes of playing a little better.' So they told me what they were going to pay me, and I said, 'You want to buy a set of clubs?' "

The important point is "How did it come about that CBS approached David in the first place?" Well, I'll tell you. A CBS reporter interviewed Feherty's driver the week before, and the driver said "Please, get this damn comedian off my grip!" :bg:

He then asked the Scottish, "What do you call a Mulligan in Scotland?"
"We call it 3."

Talking to a golf ball won't do you any good, unless you do it while your opponent is teeing off.

If there is a ball in the fringe and a ball in the bunker,
your ball is in the bunker.

Designers who place a hole location on a steep green slope with no chance of stopping the ball anywhere near the hole should be shot without trial.
