Your target is 222 yards and 34 feet below the tee. Welcome to the par 3 11th hole @ Boulder Pass. To stick the green you must carry the small pond fronting the green and avoid the large concrete bunker on the back right. As usual, the green will challenge your putting skills so the closer the better.

Great hole design. Green looks near a normal size green giving players a chance to carry the water and still hit the green. I'd like to see 2 or 3 holes designed with a large green forcing some players to make long putts or bring more 3 putts into play.

Thanks Steve. I've been working on making the greens much larger than I usually do but as good as the players are in JN6 too large of a green on the par 3's is just wasted real estate since they consistently land near the stick. That being said strategic placement of the pins is a good alternative. Another ploy I use which hole #6 illustrates is a wide but narrow green off an elevated tee making the golfer come in high in order to stick it. We do what we can. ;)

The 484 yard par 4 12th @ Boulder Pass offers perhaps the most complex tee shot on the course. You can lay back and play it safe leaving a much longer approach or you can gamble going right inching closer but taking the risk of not having a clear shot or give it a little extra and go for the small elevated fairway slightly left leaving a clear shot at the green. The consequences of going right are obvious and shooting for the elevated fairway can lead to all kinds of problems especially if you hit the concrete wall fronting it. Also note that it is easy to overshoot the green which is a common problem with Boulder Pass. The green itself is challenging and well protected with water left and a pair of formidable bunkers right.
