In 1966, Arnold Palmer had a seven-shot lead with nine holes to play in the U.S. Open at The Olympic Club. Palmer remained bold, trying to break Ben Hogan's tournament record, and lost the lead. Palmer also lost the next day's playoff to Billy Casper and never won another major championship.

Sam Snead holds the record for wins on the PGA Tour with 84, but he is not the winningest professional of all time. That title belongs to Kathy Whitworth who won 88 tournaments in her LPGA career.
