WorldSwing Week 42
Second Weekly Venue
Edisto Creek
Another fast round. I will very likely come back and play a second round here because
Edisto Creek is one of my favorite all time JN courses. James Deadmon created this one in 2001 to represent our next east course course. This one in Orlando, FL. I think it looks exactly like a course you would find there but maybe has a bit more water challenge than most courses. If you are an accurate power hitter, you will thrive.
PLAY INFORMATION
CONDITIONS

Round 2: Possibly to be played at later date
No gimmes (recommended)

WorldSwing Week 43
First Weekly Venue
Pine Valley GC
Chris Clouser and Mike New in 2000 gave GBC its first taste of
Pine Valley GC in New Jersey. Its a really well done course to give you a taste of a course very few people will ever set foot on due to its very private nature. We were later given another fine treatment of it made in 2014, but since that one was played on the Old Timers, I went with this version to give it some time in the limelight, which is well deserved. Gorgeous work.

WorldSwing Week 43
Second Weekly Venue
Hamilton-Wenham
We have really been on a roll for fantastic courses played consecutively. If I weren't so far behind on the tour after vacationing, I would play three times on each course. This one, from 2016, is
Hamilton-Wenham from "Fish." He gives extra credits to Galen and Dirk for help with the creation. I believe this is a real world course brought to our virtual world. Its really one that should be a permanent member of your hard drive and is a TOP course for JN GBC.

WorldSwing Week 43
PGA Signature Event
Travelers Championship: TPC River Highlands
Dale Somerfelt and Lee Gordon created
TPC River Highlands for us in 2009. This is a traditional PGA event and its great to have it to play. Its quite a challenge on pin 5, with green slopes that will drive you into a state. I really enjoyed this course last year, and remembered it immediately when I got to the hole with the blimp in the sky ahead, and the condos off to the right up the slope. Great show.

WorldSwing Week 44
Special Event: July 4th!
Liberty National
Liberty National certainly is a good choice to celebrate July 4th for a round of golf! This is fantastic, and designed in 2014 as a co-design of Juan Menestrina and Dave Smith. It continues this string of excellent courses I've picked to play in of late! Too bad I've been in a rush and only had 1 round on each, but you have your own golf bag and can get out there and play your own rounds to share with me
Thanks to the awesome designers!

Number 16, a great short par 4, seen from in front of tees off the lake. Great details.

WorldSwing Week 44
First Weekly Venue
Dorado Beach Resort
Finally catching up, and will still just play one round this week. This time, an earlier course from Terry Armstrong, circa 2000. This is
Dorado Beach Resort in Puerto Rico. Its a real world course, as Terry seems to enjoy doing. Very solid course and even in the Strong winds, I felt it fair. After the tough greens at Liberty, these were like bowling lanes

WorldSwing Week 44
Second Weekly Venue
Nelson's Point @ Antiguan Resort
And with todays round, I'm officially caught up after three weeks of chaos
Our world tour over the last few weeks has taken us through the Eastern USA and now we are finishing a week in the Caribbean. Next week, its off to the UK.
This time, we play one round at Scott Whitson's 1999 JN5 course
Nelson's Point @ Antiguan Resort. I think this is a fine effort and its JN5 roots don't show up to obviously to my eye. Its a birdie-giver, which is a bit more typical of early JN courses, as designs over the years have chosen to 'tiger proof' by adding extra length to protect against power hitters. However, this does not take anything away from the fun factor.

Some really nice course's lately. Noticed Hamilton-Wenham by Chad 'Fish' Derouin was recently played. Fish was a regular at 'The Den' and contributed many witty little articles and tidbits as well as good quality course's. I used to chat with Fish two or three times a week but we're down to once in awhile now. Miss him.

Tarheel, I let Fish know that you used his course on your Tour and as usual got a lengthy response. Fish has a way with words that often escape the mere mortal but this response is to the point and I think you guys will enjoy it.
"Well thanks Steve and thanks Tarheel. The course got panned when it first came out. The main complaint was the red barn next to a tee on a back nine par 5. I'll admit the closing hole is less than challenging but there's more than enough holes to make up for it.
Charlie Roberts sent me a package of Objects I use for this course and the horizon is one from that fellow who made them for Links that Snuffy redid to fit our game. This is the last course I built before you told me to get off my ass and learn to make objects myself or you'd quit answering my questions. You didn''t say that per se but I got the message. A big thank you Steve for the kick in the behind. The freedom to design which followed was exhilarating.
It's a short course with a lot of twists and turns. Long hitters my want to substitute the golf cart for an excavator and the driver for a chain saw. Take a little something off the drive and voila you find fairway. The ninth hole is the most devious fairway on the course. Play a long Iron off the tee and it sets up perfectly with the green. There's a lot of fun holes on the course so I'm glad you like it."
And that is our Friend Fish!!
