I have been addicted to ancestry.com for the last month or so, and going back to my mothers side I found out that I am related to Henry VIII (Henry Tudor). He is my 16X great grandfather, and Mary Boleyn Carey my 16X great grandmother. I know he was not a good man, but found it interesting that I am related to him. That's my mothers-mothers side. My mothers-fathers side has the surname 'White,' and I have long heard from my grandfather that we were direct descendants of John White, one of the first Englishmen to colonize in the U.S. Well, there it was on ancestry, written documents all the way back to John White! I'm surprised that the John White legend/myth in my family is actually documented to be true, as well as being of royal blood. No royalty left in this blood, but happy to find records that go back to the 1500's....and that's just as far as I have gotten so far!
