WOOOOT! P.B. award!
Re: WOOOOT! P.B. award!
Alex, I'm hoping for some snowed in weather to play some too! If you want to play more challenging courses, I suggest playing against the Amateur Tour. They usually shoot between +2 and +10 for a round.

Alex, I so enjoyed reading the community posts for season mode. If you do decide to play one, post your results so we can cheer you on!

Thanks, sandwedge! Here goes, then.
Rounds one and two were good. I played with "Jack Nicklaus" in the final group on day two, and did decent. The wind had picked up, and nobody shot less than -4. I shot -1. Went into moving day tied for 9th. Went the wrong way in Rd 3, shot a 77 in gusty, moist conditions. So, I say some storm came through overnight. I fell all the way back to E. Rough, but still in a tie for 23rd, so passable. Completely out of the running 15 back, but with the winds settling a bit, and the greens more like what I'm used to, I'll see where I can get today.

I finished with a 69, and took t15. I know most of you could have done better than 68-72-78-69 on Kapalua in the wind, but it's my best finish in a tourney by far. And I choose it because it's the real life host of that tournament. I know that in PGA2000, real courses run a little easier, but if I have a chance to play the real thing, I'll do it. Here's looking forward to rest of my season. Next stop is, I believe, Wailie, for the Sony Open. Here we go.

Alex! I know many people think real renditions are easier but I really haven't noticed that much difference in my 9 seasons of tournament play. Yes there are a few that play somewhat easy but there are some that can be pretty difficult. The same holds true for other designs. But that being said there are alot more difficult ones that are'nt real mainly because there's alot more of them over all.
Re: WOOOOT! P.B. award!
Bethpage sure isn't easy You're off to a great start!
Re: WOOOOT! P.B. award!
Hey, all
I barely made the cut at Wailie, but did do it. I'm at E after two rounds, and Jack Nicklaus is leading at -8. The average score in r2 was -2, so I wasn't far off the pace for the day, I shot -1. Still, I have a hard time on moist greens, especially if they are small.
Wow, a real life course not being easy. Wailie is one of them. Yes, they are harder in the game, but some of those par 4's are so long, especially if into the wind. The fairways are razor thin, and the rough very tough on long. Not Bethpage like. But still.

Yeah they convert two par 5's to par 4's for the tournament there. This game shows its age in how far you can hit the ball. The average drive in game is about the same as the shortest guy on tour now.
Re: WOOOOT! P.B. award!
It is true that a great drive that rolls and is wind aided in the game is still not even close to what guys can do in real life. Hopefully you will get favorable wind and ideal green conditions to make up for the length issue.
Re: WOOOOT! P.B. award!
I did bomb 4 drives 350+ at Kapalua in the wind, that was fun. The longest was 373 on 17. Currently, I'm number 12 in driving distance on tour, 1 putting, and like, 17th overall. I barely hit 40% of the greens at Wailie.
