What's in your bag?

Post by sandwedge »

Just thought I would ask the question. As I try to improve my ability, I was wondering if the clubs make a difference. I have the standard set - 1,3,5 woods and 3-9, PW,SW, LW and putter. Anyone differ and why? I also have a customized ball - Maxfli Noodle - just a bmp file that I replaced the original with - makes me feel that I can hit it farther even if I cannot  Thoughts???

I use D2, 3W, 1 iron and 3-9 irons, pw, sw, lw. The D2 gets a little higher, which I like. It helps to carry the ball farther over traps, water, etc..than the D1 does. I use a 1 iron to hit those 220-250 yard shots. Anything over that, I adjust my 3W to.

I forgot you could put your own ball in there. I'm going to put a Penta on mine! :)

Does the 1 iron give you good height and spin when hitting into the green? I might want to try that and see if it works for me. The customized balls show up pretty good - you can make them out when putting on the green which is pretty neat. I have done yellow ones and orange ones and a few custom ones with images stamped on them to replicate a ball that might get used in a best-ball office tournament. I switch them around to up the immersion factor when playing by myself - like when you guys make those fantastic designs and I want to try them out :)

The 1 iron does not give me any spin, but gets more distance than a 5W. I use it alot to tee off on par 4's, and approaches with a run up. I adjust the loft of my 3W if I need to hit a higher shot in.

I play all Titelests. Either the balls are NXT or Pro V-I. Pro V-1 is the better ball. My clubs are D, 3h, 4-9 irons, a 48 degree gap wedge, 56 sand, and putter.

I was asking what is in your bag in the game not in real life. There is a way to replace the golf ball in the game with a custom bitmap of your own making so you can use a "customized" ball in that sense. It is the same ball physics, just a different wrapper. I am trying to get a set-up that will help me score better in the game - thought my standard set-up of a D1, 3W, 5W, 3-9 irons, PW,SW, LW and putter might be limiting me on some courses.

Ah, sorry, my bad. I play a D2, because I seem to get more consistent distance with it. I've switched things around a bunch. To me, though, it's boiled down to either D2, 3w, 5w, 3-9, P, S, L, or D2, 3w, 4w, 5w, 4-9. P, S, L.

Do you choose your clubs for distance or for loft? A D2 gives more loft right? I am assuming the 4W does as well or is that not accurate?
