While cleaning up duplicate course files and libraries today I noticed there are 3 types of course files, .xcr, .xcr (read only) and .crs. What is the difference?
Thanks, Dave

Re: Course Files
.xcr is the compressed course file (includes splash screens, any bundled libs, course music, etc).
.crs is just the course file
Not sure what .xcr (read-only) is?

Re: Course Files
Definition of read only : Capable of being displayed, but not modified or deleted. All operating systems allow you to protect objects (disks, files, directories) with a read-only attribute that prevents other users from modifying the object.

Re: Course Files
I realize that Stan, but it's unlikely I did that (although after my clumsy camera catastrophe of the other day) who knows?I just assumed the designer had made them read only for some reason.Stan Nehilla wrote:Definition of read only : Capable of being displayed, but not modified or deleted. Re: Course Files
I've run into that while deleting files. "This is a read-only file; are you sure you want to delete it?" Uh, yeh. I always thought that "read only" was so you wouldn't (or couldn't) accidentally write something onto it that would corrupt it.
