Player Eligibility

Post by Polslad »

Can anyone explain how this works to me, real simple?
Can I for example, set a tournament with just the seasons tournament winners, or maybe the top 50 on the money list etc?
10 years down the line and I'm still finding features in the game that I didn't know about.

Yeah, you can set a tourney so only the season's winners play. I believe you may set it so that only the top so-and-so from such-and-such an event make it as well.

David! Eligabilty is on the far left of the season play edit event screen. BE CAREFULL. I rearly use it. Most tournaments that have a winners only or top players only span 1 year which means many would be from last season.

Yes, but it is kind of nice if you want an event with a limited field, like the Masters, or The Tour Championship.

David, eligibility only applies to the season that you're currently using; for example if you carry over players from last year they'll have the same stats but last seasons record has no applicability to this season. For that reason I never used it; I just manually sorted out my field and put them into a new folder for that event (for example, the matchplay championship) then returned them to the original player folder at the end of the event.

Is it even possible to have a match play championship in this game?

ADC, you have to do everything manually. Last year I used the top 64 money earners; ranks 1-4 got #1 seed, 5-8 #2 seed, etc. Then I just set up a game and allowed them to play a match vs each other, of course playing mine live, then advancing the winners. I kept my own money stats; those in the game get messed up pretty easily, especially when you have playoffs.

As far as the game's season play goes, it's strictly medal.

I finished my Accenture match play championship a few days ago. 2 of my final 4 were the same as the real tournament. In mine Hunter Mahan finished in 4th and Rory McIlroy won the Tournament. I went out in round 2. I PLAYED HORRIBLE but still somehow managed to play all 18 holes in round 2.
