Old Newbie

Post by Jared »

Hi All,

I was stumbling around on the net the other day looking for my old ladder site for PGA (Class of '99). I learned that most of those sites are shut down, and then I found this site!! It's great to know that there is still an appreciation for this great game, even 12 years after it's release.

I was shocked to see that some of my own (not so great) courses live on in cyber space, and have downloaded a few that I had forgotten I ever designed. I was really more of a player than designer, but finding this site has caused me to relaunch the discs and fire up the architect program again.

It's great to see people I remember, (and who most likely don't remember me) and thanks to whomever is responsible for this site.

Jared! Welcome, are you using the 1999 version or do you have one of the PGA2000 versions? I'm not sure what the limatations would be if using the 1999 version. There's an installation package avalible for PGA2000 located in the utilities section. Also don't forget to download and install patches and anything else that interest you from the utilities section.

Thanks Steve and Dar,

I am using 2000. I always preferred 99, but can't find my discs anyway. The architect was vastly improved on 2000, but back then nearly all of my friends stayed on 99 until the bitter end. Are there many playing online? I assume Kali is the only way at this point.

Hey, Jared!

It's always nice to have new posters. The amazing thing about this community is it's stay power. Even though it's been 12 years, we still have amazing designers and players. So, welcome...back!
