3D rendering mesh (Ctrl+Alt+T)

Post by DC#1 »

I'm having more problems with crashes. I can play all holes except 13-15. I discovered that the 3D rendering tool would not work. I went back to an older file and it works. Do you think picking up land shapes 1 at a time and do a minimum optimize would help? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I try my best to make sure all shapes get optimized. However, I doubt this was your problem unless there was a lot that needed optimized and or optimized a lot.

I optimized all the shapes in that area. I picked up the fairway with children and optimized and dropped them.

I have figured out that it is a windows 10 problem. That is the PC I have been designing on and on some, but not all files it crashes on hole 13. I can skip forward to hole 16 and finish from there. So I took my most recent one that crashed on windows 10 and tried it on my on XP computer and it works, no crashes. I wouldn't even know where to start looking to fix that. Any thoughts?

Is it possible to drop a single shape around all 3 holes simultaneously then pick it up with children, then drop all shapes again? I run Win 10 as well and haven't encountered this issue.

Do you think having to many tabs or programs open could cause it to crash? Maybe using to much memory or CPU. I played that same one that crashed 3 days ago and it played, no problem with nothing open. I did find 12 fairway had elevated point count. Picked up fairway and dropped shape around split fairway and found 5500 points. Smoothed and optimized, cut fairway point count by more than half and around dropped shape reduced by 2000 points. New file played with no crashes. Any thoughts?

Yes, I believe that to many open programs can cause some crashes. I have another thought. I made a course 2 years ago
"Marsh Course at Cumberland Island" that runs fine on my windows 11 gaming computer but after uploading to this site everyone else had crash issues. I'm wondering what O.S. everyone else has who tried to play the course and crashed. Is it possible that somehow, it's a corrupt library issue with your course? We should compare libraries I used on the Marsh course with the libraries you used on your course to see if anything matches. It's a long shot but it may be worth checking out.
