See below the schedule for an introduction message. In short, download my rounds and play along with me! Thats it! Send me feedback too, so I know someone is out there.
Everything is cross-indexed so you can shortcut back here from bottom of any event or use schedule to go to an event. ALL courses this season are now in the database available for download! 25 of the 54 tour courses do not have JN6 courses, so I have substituted as needed with approximations (geographically and/or course type)
As of week 14, I will be listing my tour handicap for that event, prior to that, use an « 8 » for a default hcp for me, which seems to be a very stable number. I recalculate it after each full event based on most recent 20 courses played.

Who am I? I’m Brad, AKA Tarheel, a player of JN series since JNSE. I ran the WorldSwing Tour around 2005ish - 2010ish a couple of years and was a member of Ham Hoc Tours and participated in some other JN online tours from time to time. I live in the southeast USA.
Me today. I like putting a name to a face so here is mine.
What's the point of this thread? Well, its so much more fun to play this game with someone else. You can download my .round files, and play along with me as we tour the PGA and our beautiful collection of GBC courses. This isn't really a 'true' competition/tour because I'm not tracking anything and I just don't think right now we have the 'viewership'. I will include from time to time some 'special competitions' which are to give yourself a fun challenge. PLEASE let me know how it goes in these! Also, just let me know if you enjoy this. I'm hoping that the rare bird that discovers this game might find this column a great way to get into the game and discover some great old school c-golf! For those not knowning, you can download my rounds, and then save them into your saved folder for the game. They will then be available to add as a player in your stroke play as long as you set the conditions to match. It will be just like you are playing with me online! My plan is to continue this for the entire year REGARDLESS of participation, for the benefit of the future provided I dont have a brain error or computer crash.
*See bottom of this entry for an excerpt from the Ham Hoc Tour website about how to use and make recorded rounds or go here if its still up:

PGA WEEK TWO
President’s Cup
To celebrate my 're'discovery of JN6, I have decided to follow the PGA tour trying my best to use real courses, and substitute close approximations as best I can when we don’t have the real world course available, using real worldish weather conditions. I will each week publish my .round files at the end of the event for you to play along with for fun. I didnt decide to start this until after the tournament at Silverado, so I'll make that one up soon. So, in honor of the Presidents cup, everyone feel free to load up the fantastic rendition of Quail Hollow by Terry Armstrong made 10/28/2007. Aficionados of the PGA will see that the course doesn't match up to the current course, because four holes were reconstructed, or altered, in appx 2017. However, it was a fantastic round and this is a top notch JN6 design. In the event that I post up a course that you don't have, and which is not available here at the Golf Sim Clubhouse, PM me and I will try to send it to you via email.
All rounds are played with 18" gimmes and NO mulligans, BLACK tees
R1: Mild 1 normal
R2: Medium 2 normal
R3: Mild 3 normal
R4: Medium 4 normal
Please note that my file is mislabeled for round 3, it says Med, but it was played in mild.

*From Ham Hoc Tour website, how to use a recorded round:

PGA WEEK ONE
Fortinet Championship
As promised, we have here the makeup for week one of the PGA tour. In week one, the tour went to Napa Valley to play at Silverado Resort & Spa. Since this course is not present in our inventory of JN6 courses, I picked La Costa Resort & Spa as a substitute because even though its not Napa valley, it has that feel to it when you play the game. This course was lovingly created 1/12/04 by Martin Ramshaw as a composite of the North and South course rather than a straight recreation of one or the other. Martin created nine courses, to my knowledge, for GBC. You will hear some distant applause at times, see some customs, play not quite tight yet inviting fairways, and use good hole overheads and a functional course overhead and I think overall the course is a solid effort. Early pins are full of low scoring opportunity (as an aside, looking back at old records, I managed a 54 in 2004! and I can only assume this was on pin 1 with mild winds) but true to form I found pins 4 and 5 a good bit more challenging. Unfortunately, I contracted covid a couple of days ago, and it also threw my timing with the occasional cough or sneeze mid-swing
The weather starts off very nice, but picks up through the week 1 weekend as there was rain and a little wind on championship Sunday.
THE TOURNAMENT
SPECIAL
Let's have a closest to pin challenge! While playing your rounds, keep track of, and perhaps save your .shot, for your overall closest to pin on HOLE 5, I included my closest to pin to compare with after you finish all your rounds. PM me how you did, I'd like to hear!

Re: Play the PGA tour with Tarheel!
PGA WEEK THREE
Sanderson Farms Championship
I apologize for such a quick post of the next event, but we have been playing catchup with the real PGA tour. With this post we are now up to date with last weekends tournament. For my part, I had to play all my rounds for this tournament and the week one event simultaneously last weekend to be able to post here!
I REALLY hope somebody will enjoy what I'm doing, and I sincerely hope I can breathe some life back into the world of JN6 players with this series because GBC is still a fine game in 2022. If only we still had that full community! Gotta get some Youngbloods to see what it offers. Who needs a first person shooter when you can hunt eagles!
So, week three of the PGA tour took players to Sanderson Farms Championship at The Country Club of Jackson, in MS. To my knowledge, we dont have this course either, so I took a look at some pics of the real course and came up with Keystone Knoll as a substitute. This is a marvelous golf course designed by the prolific and delightfully talented Steve Holden on 6/5/15. Sundance has been designing courses since, if I'm right, the early JNSE days and continues to this day to have output in the highest quality available for this game. Keystone Knoll may not be as flashy as some of its Holden-peers, but delivers a fantastic simulation and represents this week perfectly. You will find that each pin position holds additional challenges as you move through the rounds. You may get a laugh many times as you play with me...(especially a very suspect judges ruling for 'nearest relief' on hole 7 I think in round 1!!!) I really do think that as I relearn how to play, it was THIS course that started to teach me how to scramble again. Weather this week was a little more windy at the time of day I had tee times, so we had a wee bit more challenge. Its also been a little dry out there so greens are fast (we've had all that rain over here in the Florida and atlantic seaboard havent we!)
Week four we will be headed to Vegas, and I think we’ll have a pair of special competitions.

PGA WEEK FOUR
Shriners Childrens Open
Welcome to our fourth week of the PGA tour. This week, the tour went to Vegas to play at TPC Summerlin, which we have for GBC! This is a fantastic version of the course created by the prolific designer Terry Armstrong, who has created courses for JN golf dating back to the 90's and I believe is continuing to work on designs. As you may recall, he created the Quail Hollow we played in week 2 of the tour (Presidents Cup). His detail work is incredible in every course I have played, and this is no exception. This course was created 10/07/10. I think a really fun touch is the music to start the first and tenth hole, which I recognize from PGA 2000. That was fun! Plenty of other sounds to bring the course to life, including some distant crowd cheer. Textures are very pleasing. In real life, the weather in Las Vegas was mild with some medium gusts which I represented by medium winds days 1 and 2. Day 3 should give you a chance to score low, but oi those pins. On day 4, real weather had mild winds, but for a course like this, its more fun to challenge yourself, so our wind bumps up to strong, but on reasonable pins. No rain to be seen...
We're headed to Japan in week five.
THE TOURNAMENT
SPECIAL CHALLENGE
Lets make this fun and have two special challenges during this tournament.
First, Hole 8 will be a closest to Pin competition. Keep track of (save your .shot files) your tee shots to the green on hole 8 and see which round has your shot closest to the pin (on the green). After the tournament, you can compare to mine which I attached in the zip.
Second, Hole 16 will be a longest drive competition. Keep track of (save your .shot files) your tee shots and see which round has your tee shot go the longest distance and remain on the fairway of hole 16. After the tournament, you can compare to mine which is also attached in the zip.
CONDITIONS
Round 1: Medium, Pin 3, Normal
Round 2: Medium, Pin 4, Normal

Re: Play the PGA tour with Tarheel!
You are welcome! I'm having a great time and its a great way to get myself back into the series and highlight some of these great golf courses.
By the way, anyone out there interested, I've attached here a .zip with a tour flag for this "PGA with Tarheel tour" (which I'm using for my avatar). Just move and save the default Golden Bear flag located in:
"C:***\Golden Bear Challenge\Data\Models\Flag\GB_flag.bmp"
...somewhere safe, and then replace it with the content of this zip and you will have my Tarheel PGA tour flag, which actually looks fantastic in game.

Thanks Tarheel but I usually make one to three flags for each course and always like to use them with the designs I'm working on. I will save it though in case I find some time to actually play the game. LOL

PGA WEEK FIVE
The Zozo Championship
In this, the fifth week of the PGA tour, we fly to Asia and play in Japan. Keegan Bradley won this event, 2022, after a winning drought since 2018, when he won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England. The real course this weekend was the Accordia Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan which I don't believe we have for JN6. We will be instead playing at Five Eight Golf Club. This was one of many courses released by Twilight Express in Japan in the early 2000's and it will not translate well into your course list as the kanji show up as nonsense in our game. When you go searching for this one it will show up at the end of your "H's" Weather was a bit windy out there and grounds did get a little wet, but you'll find this course not too punishing in any weather. My feeling on this course, as per many of the courses released in this Japanese group is that its just fine, but lacks the extra sounds and customs as well as overall challenge and risk/reward design to make it a top notch course for JN6 and the file size still baffles me; My eyes don’t see the custom items suggested by its bulk. Its a 7-8 out of 10 rating for me and worth keeping for the occasional round but I found it to be an easy play on each pin. Enjoy your 4 here, you will get low scores.
Coming to my home area in the Carolinas next week on tour!

PGA WEEK SIX
The CR Cup
From Japan to South Carolina we go. This week, the tour plays Congaree, located in the low country of Ridgeland, SC and designed by Tom Fazio and ranked 39th of top 100 American golf courses in 2021-22 by golf digest. Unfortunately, this beautiful sandbelt course is not available for GBC, so with some help I narrowed substitutes down and eventually chose a course I've never visited, X-Sand. The visuals were what I wanted, featuring open fairways and a lot of surrounding sand and sand-waste areas. This course was made by Tony Peat 11/27/06, and overall I really like it. Only one hole has water unfortuantely (Congaree has a couple of Par 3's with forced carry over water). However, there are a couple of Par 4's reachable in one, much like Congaree. Trees are around and might get you in trouble if you mis-hit, but usually keep out of your way. The greens can be fun and frustrating at times, which is a bonus in my book. This is a course which, if tweaked with a few upgrades, could be a premier GBC course. It could use more variety of trees to look less monotonous and a little more customs here and there, a few more sounds, and add a little more water and/or risk/reward is all it needs (would break up the otherwise 'samey' feel to the holes). Oh, and a nice splash screen is always appreciated, including designers name This will not be my last visit to this nicely done course though. I expect to see low scores here.
Next week, off to Bermuda!

Re: Play the PGA tour with Tarheel! (Casual golfing with .round files)
PGA WEEK SEVEN
The Butterfield Bermuda Championship
I'm doing this differently this week. Instead of posting all my rounds on Sunday or Monday, I'm going to post them as I play them each day so anyone who desires can play one a day.
This week we go to lovely Bermuda, where day 1 calls for rain and Thundershowers in the evening with a bit of wind. In fact, the entire weekend forecast is for rain. We are playing Port Royal Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr in 1970. "Ranked among the world’s best public golf courses by Golf Digest and named Bermuda’s finest course by the New York Times, Port Royal features 18 championship holes over 6,842 manicured yards, the longest and most picturesque course in all of Bermuda."
This course is a Snuff Design from 2012 for GBC, and I generally find his golf courses challenging. This is no exception. It looks great off the tee, but the fairways are small, and the greens are hard to hold. Sand traps are placed exactly where you don't want them, so you have to swing easy or power up. You really don't want to be stuck with long irons coming in though. You may find it useful to give a little extra distance on approach shots since often you are hitting up hill to the green. Its a challenge to not come up short on greens.
Good luck! Check back daily for my new rounds.
THE TOURNAMENT
CONDITIONS
Round 1: Medium, Pin 2, Soft
Round 2: Strong, Pin 1, Soft, 50% Fog
Round 3: Medium, Pin 4, Soft

SPECIAL COMPETITION
Over four rounds, keep track of your closest to pin on the signature #16. It must be on the green to count. Let's see who can have the closest shot over four rounds. I will announce mine and attach the .shot file at the end of round 4. If you play along with me, you'll know which one it is, if I qualify.

Tarheel's .round files: Four rounds of play, and I could not stick a ball on hole 16! That thing is slippery! Three pars and a bogey.
Number 16, Signature Par 3
